Established in 1837 in Paris, France as a specialist harness maker, Hermès first began creating women's handbags in 1922, clothing in 1929, and launched "The Scarf" in the 1930's.

Today the company remains a 6th generation family-run business, and continues to draw inspiration from its archetypal ambassadress, Amelia Earhart, evincing a certain restraint coupled with audacity.

The Jewelry division was introduced by Pierre Hardy, who joined the house in 1990, and has been widely praised for preserving the brand's signature minimalism with an extravagant edge.
